Plexiglas is an excellent substitute to metal for signs which are going to be indoors, attached to store-fronts or in areas which are not subject to severe weather. Plexiglass has many of the attributes of metal such as strength and rigidity but also has the advantage, like vinyl, of being available in a wide array of colors thus avoiding the need for background painting. Additionally, limited three dimensional effects can be created with raised lettering and logos to provide a more dramatic effect. Plexiglas can be a very effective way of achieveing a dramatic effect but without the manufacturing time and cost of wood.
